The Bidwill Trust Hospital Foundation was established in 1987 with objectives to provide and operate hospitals and health services, and provide donations for health related charitable purposes.

Bidwill Trust Hospital Foundation assists South Canterbury registered charities that are providing positive health outcomes in the community.

Applicants for a grant must be registered charitable organisations operating within the South Canterbury region (Timaru, McKenzie and Waimate District Council boundaries). Their work must relate to providing positive health outcomes within the community.
